INSTAGRAM POST

  1. What is the main purpose of the post?
    • Promotion of an artist! The purpose of the account, and thusly every post, is to inspire the audience.
  2. Who is the audience of the post?
    • Designers, women, book lovers.
  3. How does the post connect with the audience?
    • By making a seasonal and emotional connection--Fall! And by producing visually appealing images.
  4. What value does the post provide to their audience?
    • I'm part of the audience. I love following this account. The value for me is mainly inspiration. But close behind that is motivation - motivation to create work beautiful enough to be featured on the page. Plus, networking! Connecting with fellow book designing women..
  5. How does the post's design connect and communicate with the audience?
    • In this case it's all about the channel. Because this post is featured on Instagram, there's not a lot of room for design. But the benefit of Instagram design is that it makes connecting and communicating easy! It's also connecting through storytelling, as mentioned before. The seasonal colors connect the audience (and any breathing human being) in an emotional way.
  6. What metrics (likes, shares, re-tweets, etc.) will be used to determine if the post is successful?
    • Likes, comments (stronger indicator of engagement), shares, engagements per follower, followers gained, but most important is GROWTH! You have to start somewhere and growth is the greatest indicator of success (IMHO).
IF I COULD MAKE A SUGGESTION--> This post needs hashtags. Hashtags can make a post so much more discoverable! It's also a great way to measure user engagement.

However, their methods of doing this were not exactly ethical by today's standards. Their era of journalism, known as yellow journalism, was based upon sensationalism and crude exaggeration. His Girl Friday was filmed in the 1940’s, about four decades after this era died. Therefore, at this point in history, honest and trustworthy journalism was being openly appreciated. Because of this, I believe that this film was reflecting the era of Pulitzer and Hearst by mocking their methods in a comical fashion. It made journalism seem laughable and completely unreliable.   How do the film’s characters violate journalistic ethics? In the Elements of Journalism we learn that a journalist's first obligation is to reporti...
